William Harper is without doubt one of the most influential people to have worked for Wades and created many of the most loved Wade pieces.
He was a modeller for George Wade & Sons Ltd 1954-1962.
He studied at the Burslem School of Art before joinging Wade. After he left Wade he went on to work for Royal Doulton.
There were a number of auctions in the 2000’s where Bill sold his archive of Wade pieces and these William Harper prototypes have become highly collectable.
The photo below shows a collection of Wiiiam Harper signed pieces that I bought from Louis Taylor auctioneers in 2005. I am very sad I didn’t keep them!
